About Us

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Shari is a Columbia University and Bennett College graduate with fifteen years of professional experience. She has also earned advanced training from New York University, Cornell University, Teacher's College, City University of New York, and Harvard University. She has spent a significant portion of her career working as a college and career counselor within schools, agencies, and the independent sector. She is a certified College Advisor and Career Coach. 

Shari believes that the most effective way to ethically support people in transitioning to college or the workforce is to address their identity, skills, and passions. She views professional development and college coaching as an extension of social justice work that requires social-emotional support, mindfulness coaching, and advocacy. An advanced degree and the right coaching can lead to upward mobility and expanded social capital, especially for clients with historically marginalized identities. 

Shari has held many leadership positions throughout her career. Until recently, she was the founding New York State Representative Lead for Black Girls in Social Work, where she curated networking and professional opportunities for a community of regional mental and behavioral health practitioners. She currently serves as a contractor with public education and higher education organizations in New York City. She is also a consultant and executive coach for working professionals. Shari has been a hiring staff member, recruiter, and hiring manager for many agencies. She also has degrees in English and Social Work with concentrations in education and management.
